Our Story

Elego was founded by Zoë Egelman and Carly Goeman, long-time colleagues who began their legal careers at Cravath, Swaine & Moore and went on to advise start-ups and investors at Cooley.  After years representing high-growth companies and venture funds, we set out to build a new model to deliver the caliber of elite firms with the efficiency and adaptability of a tech-enabled boutique.

Instead of relying exclusively on traditional hourly billing, we offer fixed-fee packages that allow you to budget accurately and eliminates surprises. Actual fees depend on transaction complexity, timelines, and counterparties involved.

Fixed Fee Methodology

Our fixed fees are designed to reflect top quality work delivered through streamlined, technology-enabled workflows. Prices are calibrated to our standard hourly rate adjusted for expected efficiencies. This means you receive sophisticated counsel at a known cost, and typically at a discount to what traditional hourly billing would generate for the same engagement.

Engagement Process

Upon request, we can provide pricing for our core service offerings with illustrative fee ranges for standard engagements and key variables that drive fees up or down. We're happy to scope engagements precisely and confirm a fixed or capped fee before work begins. For matters with significant variability (e.g., M&A), we provide custom pricing based on deal-specific parameters.
